Now You Try

Let's look at the following scenario

Scenario

Mr. Davenport, a sixth grade teacher, and his class, have been through most of the stages of creating the opera. It was time for the children to sing the tune of the libretto. He had his recorder ready to tape the children's voices. Mr. Davenport was particularly worried about Devin, an unpopular young man, who could not carry a tune. The young man was tone deaf and if he was to sing a line, it would be just awful.

Knowing what you do about the rules, the guidelines of how to enforce the rules, and the purpose of the opera, what would you do if you were Mr. Davenport?

Write down your ideas, then go to the next page to compare them to how our specialist would handle the situation.
